BREAKING: Legacy Hillcrest Withdraws Zoning Application (Updated)

Word just hit from University Park spokesman Steve Mace that Legacy Hillcrest Investments withdrew their zoning application request today.

“The applicant, Legacy Hillcrest Investments, L.P., no longer desires to pursue the zoning change and withdraws its application, effective immediately,” said the very brief letter signed by Preston V. Phillips, Legacy Hillcrest vice president.

More TK.

UPDATE: Bob Livingston, UP city manager, said that the city attorney is looking into whether the council can approve the zoning ordinance at tonight’s city council meeting even if the zoning application is withdrawn.

“I think the council has a right to rezone property whether there is an application or not,” Livingston said. “But I’m not a lawyer.”
