Poteet Ousts WTW from Softball Playoffs
After closing the regular season with a six-game winning streak, W.T. White faced considerably stiffer competition in the softball playoffs.
The Longhorns were swept by Mesquite Poteet in a Class 5A Region II bi-district series, with the Pirates winning the finale 7-3 on Friday at Forester Softball Complex.
Poteet took the series opener 10-3 on Thursday in Mesquite. While the Pirates (22-11) advance to the second round for the first time since 2017, the Longhorns (21-8) are eliminated after finishing second in District 11-5A during the regular season.
