SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: PARADE PROBLEM
Independence Day bummer: a Ford F150 parked in a temporary no-parking zone set up for the Park Cities parade in the 3700 block of Euclid Avenue was moved by a tow truck and, in the process, the driver’s side front tire of the F150 was damaged at 4:12 p.m. July 4.
HIGHLAND PARK
5 Tuesday
Arrested at 2:29 p.m.: a 31-year-old woman accused of evading arrest in the 5400 block of Byron Avenue.
A careless driver hit a BMW at the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Bordeaux Avenue, causing the BMW to spin and hit a light pole at the corner of the intersection before 11:30 a.m.
A burglar took a black Trek bicycle with a phone holder, water bottle holder, and spare tire holder from a parking garage in the 4200 block of Lomo Alto Drive at 6:43 p.m.
A jerk shattered the rear passenger window of a Chevrolet Silverado while it was parked in the north lot at Highland Park Village before 8:41 p.m., but it could have been worse. Nothing was taken.
6 Wednesday
Arrested at 2:20 p.m.: a 27-year-old man for warrants in Highland Park Village.
An irresponsible driver rear-ended a Toyota Prius as it was leaving Highland Park Village and drove off without stopping to exchange information at 6:40 p.m.
Arrested at 11 p.m.: a 29-year-old man accused of driving without a valid license in the 4000 block of Armstrong Parkway.
7 Thursday
A pilferer picked a pair of Rayban sunglasses, a pair of Carrera sunglasses, an Apple AirTag, and gift cards from inside a Mercedes GLE parked in the 3500 block of Potomac Avenue overnight before 7:30 a.m.
8 Friday
A prowler rummaged through a Mazda CX-5 in the 3600 block of Princeton Avenue overnight before 6:40 a.m.
Arrested at 1:29 p.m.: a 22-year-old man for a warrant in the 4200 block of Livingston Avenue.
A box truck driver backed into a Toyota pickup stopped at the intersection of Armstrong Avenue and Lakeside Drive at 2:43 p.m.
10 Sunday
Arrested at 11:40 p.m.: a 22 year old accused of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and burglary in the 4700 block of Abbott Avenue.

4 Monday
Arrested at 11:22 p.m.: a 29-year-old man accused of driving while intoxicated in the 7200 block of Turtle Creek Boulevard.
6 Wednesday
A ne’er do well swiped a coin purse and a tape recorder from inside a Ford Explorer in the 6500 block of Hillcrest Avenue before 3:57 p.m.
A thief took a pair of earbuds from a Jeep Wrangler parked in the 6500 block of Hillcrest Avenue before 4:45 p.m.
7 Thursday
A crook took a Tumi backpack, a Dell computer, a pair of Apple AirPods, and a Garmin 735XT from a Ford F150 parked outside Hillstone in the 8300 block of Preston Road before 6 p.m.
Drug deal gone wrong? A man was trying to sell marijuana when robbers took his wallet with about $100 and a card inside at gunpoint in the 3400 block of Milton Avenue just before 11:40 p.m.
8 Friday
A part pilferer also took taillights from a Ford F150 in the 2700 block of Hanover Street before 5:30 a.m. Another pilferer picked $1,000 worth of parts from a Ford F250 in the 3200 block of Hanover Street before 8 a.m. Taillights were also taken from a Ford F150 in the 4200 block of Southwestern Boulevard before 8:40 a.m.
A jerk assaulted a resident in the 3900 block of Southwestern Boulevard at 9:52 a.m.
Reported at 4:37 p.m.: another thief took the tail lights from a Ford F150 parked in the 3100 block of Hanover Street.
A ne’er do well broke into a Mazda CX9 in the 4200 block of Grassmere Lane and took a Streamlight strion flashlight, a gun magazine, ammunition, a pair of glasses, a pair of Oakley sunglasses, a traffic vest, and a folder from inside before 8:10 p.m.
9 Saturday
A crook took a wallet, $200, a driver’s license, insurance documents, and a bank card from a Ford F150 parked in the 4000 block of Centenary Drive before 7:30 a.m.
Reported at 5:46 p.m.: a porch pirate took a bicycle from outside a home in the 2800 block of Rosedale Avenue.
10 Sunday
Arrested at 10:15 p.m.: a 43-year-old man accused of driving while intoxicated in the 4000 block of Lovers Lane.
