SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: GRINCH?
A thief took two toy cars worth $400 that were given as Christmas gifts to children in 2019 and left unattended in Flippen Park in the 4400 block of Versailles Avenue before 11:44 a.m. March 21.
HIGHLAND PARK
16 Monday
Arrested at 8:39 p.m.: A man in the 5000 block of Airline Road for a warrant. The man’s age wasn’t provided.
17 Tuesday
A thief drove off in a Land Rover parked in the 4600 block of Westside Drive overnight before 6:30 a.m. The vehicle was later recovered, police say.
18 Wednesday
Unwelcome surprise: A dog bit a man walking nearby in the area of the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Cowper Avenue around 12:37 p.m.
A good Samaritan turned a debit card found near the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Mockingbird Lane in to police around 12:55 p.m.

A burglar broke a window of the James Pearse store in Highland Park Village and took clothes around 5:52 a.m.
22 Sunday
Arrested at 4:45 a.m.: A man in the 4200 block of Beverly Drive accused of violation of a protective order. The man’s age wasn’t given.

A thief drove off in a Chevrolet truck from a construction site in the 3400 block of Purdue Street around 2:21 p.m.
22 Sunday
A thief swiped a bicycle from a back porch in the 3400 block of McFarlin Boulevard overnight before 9:50 a.m.
