Some art students from The Winston School will have their works featured as part of the “Hike on the Wild Side” exhibit on Saturday at Cedar Ridge Preserve.

The hike and art show, which is being sponsored by Audubon Dallas, will incorporate projects featuring birds, nature, and landscapes from area students. Winston teacher Mary Frei entered some of her lower and middle-school students’ pieces in a national contest, hoping to get them published in a book called Celebrating Art. The publishers were so impressed that they plan to show up to 98 percent of the Winston submissions at a special show during the hiking event.

The fundraiser for the nature preserve in southern Dallas begins at 7 a.m., and the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Participants receive a T-shirt and are entered into a raffle for various prizes.
