Students at Hillcrest High School and Franklin Middle School are hard at work on a family-friendly version of the musical Hairspray, in which plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad uses her status as a star dancer on the Corny Collins Show to try to integrate 1960s Baltimore. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Dec. 11, 12, and 13 in the Hillcrest auditorium. Reserved seats are $15, general-admission tickets are $10, and students get in for $5.
