Gigantic Slabs of Granite Landing at Preston Forest
Though slightly less dramatic than the title suggests, granite countertop superstore Gage’s Granite is opening a showroom on the northeast corner of Preston Road and Forest Lane, the former home of a computer repair store whose name is escaping me. The company, owned by the son of a Preston Hollow resident, has been in business since for a decade and has production facility and warehouse in Northwest Dallas near Royal Lane and I-35. But the storefront showroom, which will have examples of installed granite countertops, will be a first for the company, says owner Christopher Raines.
“It’s really important for the customer to be able to see a finished product. The trend is for customers to go to a show room to do this one stop shop kind of a deal, but [those places] are dealing with a company who then subs the work out. With us, they would be dealing directly with us, so there’s a big difference.”
Raines says they’re moving things in Wednesday then opening to the public Thursday. I’m meeting with him Friday, so I’ll have a couple of better pictures.
