Lamplighter Donates Books to Neighbors
The Lamplighter School Parents’ Association and school representatives recently delivered more than 2,200 books to students at nearby Sudie Williams and Walnut Hill elementary schools of Dallas ISD.
The donation, completed during a book drive in May, was a component of Lamplighter’s partnership with the Commit! organization, which has a goal of advancing third-grade reading scores in DISD. For the past two years, the three schools have developed pen-pal relationships to practice reading and writing skills.
