SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: UNWELCOME YARD ART?
Some people take lawn maintenance very seriously. Maybe that’s why a homeowner in the 6900 block of McCallum Boulevard called the police around 7:40 a.m. May 26 to report that someone left two handbags in their front yard.

22 Tuesday
Around 7:52 p.m., a motorist found the window of his vehicle busted while parked in the 8500 block of Douglas Avenue.
23 Wednesday
More windows at the Town North Family YMCA were shot out sometime before 9:52 a.m. Earlier this month, it was reported that 37 windows had been shot out over the past month, causing an estimated $18,000 in damage.
24 Thursday
A burglar broke into Utopia Food and Fitness in the 11900 block of Preston Road and stole cash. The time of the incident was not noted in the police report.
Some say third time’s a charm, but not for this homeowner in the 11100 block of Russwood Circle. Sometime overnight before 11:06 a.m., not one, not two, but three of his vehicles were broken into.
The window of a home in the 4900 block of Harvest Hill was broken around noon during a burglary.
Property was stolen sometime before 12:56 p.m. from a trailer parked in the 5300 block of Montrose Drive.
A 69-year-old woman shopping at Tuesday Morning in the 6100 block of Luther Lane reported to police around 6:50 p.m. that her wallet was stolen.
Property was stolen sometime before 10 p.m. from outside of a home in the 10900 block of Crooked Creek Drive.
26 Saturday
Around 11:40 a.m., a vehicle parked at a Tom Thumb in the 11900 block of Preston Road, was “intentionally” keyed.
Around 4:22 p.m., a vehicle parked in the 7200 block of South Janmar Court was burglarized.
27 Sunday
Some’s Oceans Eleven-style mischief went down before 10:44 a.m. at Grant Halliburton Foundation: Someone apparently cut the power to the building in the 6300 block of LBJ Service Road in order to enter the building.
Cash and tools were stolen around 3:40 p.m. from an unlocked vehicle in the 6300 block of Woodland Drive.
