SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: IN THE BAG

What’s a shoplifter to do when without a bag within which to conceal sweet-smelling loot? Steal one of those, too. Reported at 9:53 a.m. Aug. 6: An opportunistic thief used one off the shelf on Aug. 5 to conceal fragrances and leave Ulta in Preston Forest Village.

DALLAS

5 Monday

The reporting time was not provided for a theft at a home in the 10500 block of Les Jardins Drive.

Burglarized before 9:44 a.m: a vehicle parked St. Mark’s School of Texas on Preston Road.

Reported at 8 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen from the 12100 block of Fieldwood Lane. 

6 Tuesday

Reporting times were not provided for thefts at homes in the 10500 block of Barrywood Drive and the 4600 block of Irvin Simmons Road.

Two pairs of black slides were stolen from Victoria’s Secret in NorthPark Center before 3:45 p.m.

A vehicle belonging to Ean Holdings of Tulsa, Oklahoma was stolen before 4:16 p.m. from the 6100 block of Glendora Avenue. 

Reported at 5:11 p.m.: A vehicle parked at an apartment complex in the 6100 block of Lyndon B. Johnson freeway suffered damage on Aug. 5.

Reported at 5:26 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen from a home in the 4400 block of Taos Road on August 5.

7 Wednesday

Before 3:28 a.m., crooks tried to take the ATM out of the 7-Eleven in Preston Forest Square.

The reporting times were not provided for thefts from Sephora in Preston Royal Shopping Center and a home in the 5800 block of Preston Haven Drive.

Reported at 9:14 a.m.: the Aug. 6 burglary of a vehicle in the 6100 block of Meadow Road.

Burglarized before 4:55 p.m.: a vehicle at North Park Center. 

A theft was reported at Ulta in Preston Forest Village at 6:15 p.m.

8 Thursday

The reporting time was not provided for a theft at a home in the 5700 block of Berkshire Lane.

A 30-year-old woman, who had her car keys yanked from her hand by a robber who fled the scene in the 5800 block of Lovers Lane, reported the incident four days later.

9 Friday

Reported at 9:13 a.m.: the Aug. 7 burglar of a vehicle parked at a construction site in the 9200 block of Sunnybrook Lane.

Arrested at 10:14 a.m.: a woman, age not provided, who was accused of driving while intoxicated in the 7300 block of Meadow Road.

Reported at 11:42 a.m.: An attempted vehicle theft occurred in the 5600 block of Meaders Lane on Aug. 7.

Arrested at 4:27 p.m.: A 20-year-old woman accused of shoplifting from Victoria’s Secret at NorthPark Center. 

Property was stolen from a vehicle parked at NorthPark Center before 5:37 p.m.

Reported at 5:47 p.m.: A vehicle parked in the 7900 block of Park Lane had its hood damaged.

Arrested at 7:49 p.m.: A 30-year-old man accused of shoplifting from Macy’s at at NorthPark Center and possession of a controlled substance, described as a “green leafy substance.”

A theft investigation took place at apartments in the 6100 block of Lyndon B. Johnson freeway at 8:46 p.m.

10 Saturday

Reported at 1:15 a.m.:a 28-year-old woman suffered injuries during an assault at Time Out Tavern on Lovers Lane. 

Reported at 4:31 p.m.: theft of property at the Shell Station at Preston Road and Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.

Reported at 5:27 p.m.: the burglary of a vehicle parked in the 4200 block of Goodfellow Drive.

Reported at 5:37 p.m.: the theft of an Oklahoma City man’s vehicle from a NorthPark Center parking lot.

11 Sunday

A crook entered a fenced-in yard in the 6900 block of Northaven Road and stole pool pumps. The owner reported the crime the next morning.

Arrested at 2:43 a.m.: a 24-year-old man found passed out drunk in the 5400 block of Forest Lane. 

An attempted home break in was reported at 10:25 a.m. in the 6300 block of Northwood Road.

Reported at 3:08 p.m.: the burglary of a vehicle parked at Preston Forest Shopping Center.

Reported at 3:48 p.m.: Credit card fraud was reported from NorthPark Center on August 6.

Reported at 6:39 p.m.: A vehicle parked in Preston Forest Shopping Center was run into and damaged by an unknown driver on August 10.

Reported at 6:40 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen while parked in NorthPark Center.
