Re: 8th Graders Spiking Drinks? Yep.

I’ve spoken to the mother who sent out the e-mail. Before calling me back, she went back to her son to make sure she had her facts straight. Turns out, it wasn’t water that made him feel funny. He drank water in an attempt to feel better. The odd symptoms came after he drank lemonade from a pitcher.

I’ve left messages for the two co-chairs of said party. But since HPISD went on spring break today, I may not hear back from them immediately. If anyone who was at the party wants to speak to me on the record, my number is 469-348-8637.

I heard (insert racially insensitive description) spiked their drinks while waiting outside to lure them into a big white van. They were then going to torture the young’uns by making them listen to the Belles halftime music.

Our daughter said the rumor going around was that someone had put tequila in the lemonade, so she didn’t drink any.

    Rumors, rumors, rumors.

Interesting to see that the Mom sent the email, and THEN went back to her son to make sure that she had the facts (such as they were) straight, and, lo and behold, they weren’t.

To keep track, we now “know” that the lemondade, sprite and water were rumored to be spiked, and yet one child felt funny. And while this is an email from a mom, the fact that it has been placed on a newspapers blog by a reporter places it into the realm of journalism.
