‘Deep in the Heart of Hyer’ Scheduled for Oct. 12
The Hyer Huskies are ready to celebrate fall in true Texas fashion. The “Deep in the Heart of Hyer!” carnival will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 12 at Hyer Elementary School, 8385 Durham Street.
Carnival chair Tammy Byrd and her team of volunteers have planned a State Fair of Texas-like atmosphere for the kids with rides, games, merchandise, and concessions – all with a Texas feel.
This year’s Hyer carnival will feature some new activities such as a mechanical bull, midway rides, a photo bus, and a Big Tex stilt walker, while bringing back longtime fan favorites like the bungee jumper, extreme obstacle course, rock climbing wall, bounce houses, Get Your Cast On, crazy hair salon, cake walk and games galore.
Concessions will include typical fair food offerings including corn dogs, Chick-Fil-A, cotton candy, popcorn, and an ice cream truck.
All-day games wristbands are $30 and concessions wristbands are $10. Both are available for purchase at the gate the day of the event.
