Scots Open 10-4A Play Tonight
The Highland Park baseball team will open District 10-4A play tonight against Newman Smith at 7:30 p.m. at Scotland Yard.
The Scots (8-4) are coming off the Midland Tournament of Champions. HP won its first two games against El Paso Montwood and Amarillo Tascosa, and then lost the last three to Odessa, El Pason Franklin, and Midland Lee.
The Trojans come into tonight’s game with a 5-2 record.
Following the district opener, HP will host the Scotland Yard Classic Thursday-Saturday. The Scots play Sachse at 2 p.m. and Midland at 7 p.m. on Thursday. HP will then face Klein Oak at 7 p.m. on Friday and Longview at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The championship game will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Lady Scots softball team was also slated to open district at home against. Newman Smith today, but that game has been moved to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Newman Smith.
