Old Man of the Aisle
Am I the only one who likes to occasionally browse the rows of college textbooks, like at the Barnes and Noble on Mockingbird? I wouldn’t call it an obsession, or a deviancy (although obsessive deviants can’t be expected to recognize their condition, I suppose), but I like to know what college students are being asked to read these days.
Guilty.
soon to come … detailed posting of each text for each course:

I just did this yesterday. I almost convinced myself I needed a new backpack after I was finished.
It’s ok as long as you weren’t wearing a surgical glove on one hand.

I think you should be looking into how much college students PAY for textbooks these days. SMU Barnes & Noble = highway robbery.
SMUgrad,
You’re right about the inflated cost of textbooks, and I think that’s been the case for a long time. I hope the advent of digital textbooks will ease that problem, not to mention the load on the backs of students, starting in high school.
