Rise and Shine, Park Cities (5-31-11)
1. Congrats are in order for HPHS junior Alex Levine, one of only 588 students nationwide to earn a perfect 36 on the ACT. I have no doubt we’ll likely be talking about some of Alex’s other accomplishments in the year to come. But for now, Alex, take a break. You’ve earned it.
2. Mavs/ Heat tonight, who ya got? I don’t have a dog in this fight, but always enjoy a good party. So go Mavs.
3. Tony Romo’s wedding was Saturday at Lee Park. Anyone have any nightmare stories about traffic? I saw that Turtle Creek Boulevard was closed at Lemmon on Saturday afternoon, but other than that I wasn’t inconvenienced.
4. It’s summer, so that means the number of “here’s a meeting, with something important on the agenda, go cover it” stories drops significantly. So keep sending along tips and feature ideas to bradford@peoplenewspapers.com.
My Romo nightmare was not traffic but the circling helicopter, noisy and shaking the house. Looked to be the same one tormenting us earlier in the week when centered somewhere around Aikman’s house.
Perhaps someday they’ll have a sanitized version of the stealth helicopter used to get Bin Laden. U-S-A! U-S-A!
With all the media coverage, this was Dallas’ version of the Royal Wedding.
