Little Mayor Fills Top Job in UP
Eva Rugg may be a second grader at Bradfield Elementary, but she wasn’t too little to be a big help at the May 20 University Park City Council meeting.
As University Park’s Mayor for the Day, Rugg joined the council in approving the consent agenda, reviewing recommendations regarding the city’s tree policies, and approving a contract with public relations firm Sunwest Communications to support community outreach during the Miracle Mile Improvements Project.
The “little Mayor” voted in favor of the contract with Sunwest Communications, and said that she likes trees.

- Proclaimed May 18-24 Public Works Week in the city of University Park.
- Recognized the members of the city’s 2024-25 Leadership Academy Class. The Academy was established in 2016 as a training program for city employees interested in developing their leadership and management skills.
