Scheffler Takes Third Major Title at PGA

After a slow start to the year — by his lofty standards — hampered by minor injuries, it didn’t take long for Scottie Scheffler to regain his world-class form.

The former Highland Park standout remains on top of the golf world after cruising to his third career major win on Sunday at the PGA Championship in Charlotte.

It comes two weeks after Scheffler’s dominating victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson for his first win at his hometown event.

Scheffler opened up a commanding lead with a dazzling third-round 65 at Quail Hollow Club and wound up winning by five shots over Harris English, Davis Riley, and ex-SMU star Bryson DeChambeau.

The win garnered Scheffler more than $3.4 million and pushed his career earnings past the $80 million mark, which is fourth all-time. His other career major victories came at the Masters in 2022 and 2024.

Scheffler will tee it up again beginning Thursday at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
