Jesuit’s Cole Aims for 6A Tennis Crown
Jesuit Dallas senior Connor Cole will have a second chance to make program history on the tennis court this weekend.
For the second consecutive year, Cole will compete in the boys singles bracket at the Class 6A state tournament in San Antonio, beginning with the quarterfinal round on Thursday.
He will look to become the first Jesuit athlete to win an individual tennis state title. Cole is unbeaten at 20-0 this season and secured the Region I championship last week by winning all four of his matches in straight sets.
Cole also claimed the regional crown a year ago and advanced to state, where he dropped a three-set thriller to Aidan Xu of Katy Seven Lakes in the quarterfinals. Xu’s younger brother, Allan, is the defending state champion.
