UP Asks Public to Assist in Robbery Investigation
The University Park Police Department has asked for the public’s help in investigating a robbery that occurred at about 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, in front of Dive Coastal Cuisine in Snider Plaza.
According to an email from the city:
“A female victim was standing outside her vehicle with the driver’s side door open while speaking with another individual. During this time, a male suspect entered her vehicle through an unlocked door and stole her purse. The suspect, described as a Black male, immediately fled the scene in a gray Toyota 4Runner. He is believed to have traveled northbound on Hillcrest following the incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, observed the suspect vehicle in the area, lives in the area and may have Ring doorbell camera footage, or has any relevant information is urged to contact the University Park Police Department at 214-363-3000.”
The city wrote that it appreciated the community’s assistance in identifying and apprehending the suspect.
