HP Breaks Losing Streak in Home Finale
Highland Park closed out its home softball schedule with a resounding 10-0 win over Carrollton Newman Smith on Tuesday.
The Lady Scots (9-15, 3-10) earned their third shutout of the season and second against the Trojans. They previously defeated Newman Smith 15-0 on March 21. Both games were abbreviated due to the mercy rule.
HP pounded 10 hits and scored at least once in each of the five innings while allowing just one hit to the winless Trojans.
The Lady Scots snapped a six-game skid during which they surrendered an average of 13.2 runs per game and were eliminated from playoff contention. HP will wrap up the season on Thursday at Frisco Reedy.
