It’s Bunny Season!

University Park residents hopped into spring on March 29 with candy and crafts in Snider Plaza.

Young artists made bunnies out of wooden beads and pipe cleaners, were treated to lollipops, and played the bouncing ball game plinko to win prizes.

“We are encouraging shoppers to come out to the Plaza because all businesses remain open during construction,” University Park marketing and multimedia coordinator Abby Mancini said, “and we are celebrating spring,”

Construction in Snider Plaza has been proceeding in sections of about one block at a time. Work is currently underway in the 3400 blocks of Milton Avenue and Rosedale Avenue, between Snider Plaza and Hillcrest Avenue.

The Snider Plaza fountain is also under construction. The fountain is being replaced due to its age, structural degradation, and unwieldy maintenance requirements. The new fountain will be similar in appearance to its predecessor, but will include modernized equipment that improves water use efficiency. Work on the fountain is expected to continue through July.
