Richardson, Longhorns Pummel Hillcrest
Audrey Richardson hit two home runs as W.T. White remained unbeaten in District 13-5A softball action with a 13-0 shutout of rival Hillcrest on Tuesday.
Richardson’s second blast came on a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning, which ended the game due to the mercy rule. Morgan Young, an Arkansas-Pine Bluff signee, also homered for the Longhorns (7-0 in District 13-5A).
Whitney Foster and Aileen Hernandez combined for 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits in the pitching circle as WTW completed a season sweep of the Panthers.
The Longhorns will travel to face South Oak Cliff to continue league play on Friday, while Hillcrest will host Adamson.
