Knights Roll to TAPPS Boys Soccer Title

The Covenant School is back on top in TAPPS boys soccer, earning a Division III state title with a dominating 5-1 win over Houston St. Thomas on Friday in Round Rock.

It marks the third crown for the Knights in the past seven years, following triumphs in 2018 and 2021 — when they doubled up with the school’s girls program.

Benjamin Golik scored two goals in the title game, which Covenant led 2-0 at halftime. Braden Ganss, Matthew Peterson, and Christian Zak also found the back of the net.

The Knights outscored their four postseason opponents by a combined margin of 19-3, including a 6-1 victory over Colleyville Covenant in the semifinals.

Covenant head coach Pete Fitzsimmons earned his first title since moving over from the girls team, where he won championships in 2021 and 2023.

In Division I boys action, Parish Episcopal reached the championship game for the first time before falling to San Antonio Central Catholic 4-0 in the final. The Panthers beat El Paso Cathedral 2-0 in the semifinal round.
