HP Stumbles in Softball District Opener

Highland Park fell 5-1 to Carrollton Creekview in the District 12-5A softball opener in blustery conditions on Tuesday.

The defeat continued a recent slide for the Lady Scots (6-7, 0-1), who have dropped five straight and six of their last seven games following a 5-0 start to the season. They had just one hit against the Mustangs.

HP will look to get back on track on Friday with a road matchup against Frisco Lone Star. The Lady Scots will return home on March 11 to face Carrollton R.L. Turner.

That game will include special recognition for head coach Michael Pullen, who earned his 100th career coaching victory with a Feb. 15 win over Venus.
