Magikid Roboticists Win Championship, Advance to Worlds
A team of young roboticists from Magikid Highland Park won the VEX IQ Robotics Texas Region 2 Championship on Feb. 22 and advanced to the world championship competition.
Team Capybara won the Excellence Award, the highest award presented in VEX IQ competitions. The Excellence Award is given for a team’s overall mastery in areas including technical expertise, engineering mindset, and communication skills. The team was also named the competition’s Robot Skills Champion.
This is just Team Capybara’s first year participating in competitive robotics.
Team members were McCulloch Intermediate School students Hayden Ernst and Donovan Moore, St. Mark’s School of Texas student Eason Lu, University Park Elementary student Connor Moore, and homeschooled student Miken MomPremier.
