HP Club, Volunteers Help Feed Children in Need
Volunteers packed more than 101,000 meals for malnourished children during the Highland Park High School Feed My Starving Children Club’s first MobilePack event on Feb. 16.
About 500 volunteers worked in three shifts to prepare MannaPack meal formulas, which have been developed by food scientists and nutrition professionals to help prevent or reverse malnutrition.
Enough meals were prepared at the event to feed 276 children daily for an entire year.
The Feed My Starving Children Club, which is led by president Varsha Ravi, raised more than $30,000 for meal formulas and event costs through community donations and partnerships with Fajita Pete’s and Kendra Scott.
