HP Grad Highlights Residency in France at First Solo Show

By Isabella Castillo / Contributor

Park Cities native Anna Curnes will curate her first solo show, “It Started in Paris,” from March 1 to April 12 at ALG Fine Art, 1302 Dragon St. in the Design District.

The show will begin with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on March 1 at ALG Fine Art.

“It Started in Paris” was inspired by Curnes’ transformative residency in France. The show is a powerful and intimate exploration of rediscovery through experimentation, mixed materials, and a proprietary thrown glass method that results in new and interesting fusions with hot glass.

The pieces, which tell a story of healing, courage, and balance, originated from shards of glass thrown off the roof of ALG Fine Art.

Curnes, who is the founder and director of ALG Fine Art, has participated in national group shows for two decades, but this is her first solo venture.
