HP Blanks Creekview in District Opener
Two goals from freshman Maggie Deskin led the Highland Park offensive onslaught during a 5-0 win over Carrollton Creekview in the District 12-5A girls soccer opener on Wednesday at Highlander Stadium.
Addie Brink added a goal and three assists for the Lady Scots (6-2, 1-0). Reagan Johansen and Whitney Gross also scored for HP.
The Lady Scots rebounded from back-to-back losses at the Governor’s Cup tournament in Georgetown with three straight shutouts, outscoring their opponents by a combined 15-0. HP has five clean sheets already this season.
In boys action, HP remained unbeaten with a dominating 4-0 victory at Creekview in the district opener on Wednesday. The Scots (4-0-1, 1-0) have a 14-1 scoring margin through five games this season.
Both HP squads will continue district play on Friday against Frisco Lone Star, with the boys at home and the girls on the road.
