Team Cure Quest Hosts Music Festival To Benefit Cancer

Two high school students from the Episcopal School of Dallas are organizing a music festival to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Team Cure Quest, a group of 17 high school students from nine different area schools, are coming together to raise funds and awareness for those impacted by blood cancer through research, support and advocacy.

ESD juniors and event co-chairs, Evellyn Hargrave and Lyla Zicarelli, have set a fundraising goal of over $100,000 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Last year, Lauren Goin of Lake Highlands High School organized the first Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival. This year, Team Cure Quest, which includes students from the Episcopal School of Dallas, Highland Park High School, Hockaday, Cistercian, Jesuit, Greenhill, JJ Pearce, Booker T. Washington, Lake Highlands High School, and Aledo High School, are organizing the event.

The campaign holds a personal connection for team co-chair, Evellyn Hargrave. After witnessing her childhood friend Aubrey Tillery survive leukemia, Evellyn became passionate about supporting the mission of LLS, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to eradicating blood cancers and improving the lives of patients and their families.

“Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world where no one has to grow up losing a friend or loved one to cancer,” said Evellyn. “The Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival is more than a night of music — it’s a movement of hope and change. Team Cure Quest is proud to be a part of this movement.”

The 2nd Annual Hope Healing Cancer Music Festival will take place at the Granada Theater on February 23, 2025, from noon to 6 p.m. The festival will include an evening of live music, community connection, and heartfelt purpose. Aubrey, a source of inspiration for those struggling with a diagnosis of Leukemia, was the Honored Hero for the LLS Student Visionary Campaign in 2024 and plans to cheer on her friends at the event.

Music can be a great comforter and healer. Thanks to the two juniors, Evellyn and Lyla, for organizing the fundraiser.
