SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: CRIMINAL CELEBRANT
A greedy guest may have headed to a party with a purloined present after they stole a box of pampers and a large gift bag from CVS on Mockingbird Lane at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 18.
UNIVERSITY PARK
13 Monday
Police arrested a drunk woman attempting to enter a home that wasn’t hers at about 6:33 p.m. on McFarlin Boulevard.
The careless driver of a Land Rover Range Rover caused more than $200 in damage when he struck the garage lift gate of a building on Hillcrest Avenue at about 8:45 p.m.
Police arrested a man on a warrant at about 10:58 p.m. on University Boulevard.
15 Wednesday
A hacker stole golf clubs from a 2016 Mercedes-Benz at about 8:18 p.m. on Windsor Parkway.
16 Thursday
One or more thieves took off with three sets of tail lights on San Carlos Drive before 8:35 a.m.: those of a 2024 Ford F-150, a 2017 Ford F-150, and a 2022 Ford F-250.
It was a cinch for a criminal to steal a lunch bag, U.S. passport, social security card, debit card, and Coach purse at about 8:34 p.m. from a 2016 Mercedes-Benz on Lovers Lane. The car was left unlocked.
A wanted man turned himself in on warrants at about 10:42 p.m. on University Boulevard.
A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container and resisting search or arrest at about 11:43 p.m. on Pickwick Lane.
17 Friday
A 29-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and resisting search or arrest at about 2:23 a.m. on Bryn Mawr Drive.
A thief picked up a 2022 GMC pickup truck that didn’t belong to them at about 7:23 a.m. on Stanford Avenue.
It was a breeze for a burglar to steal a revolver from an unlocked 2022 GMC Yukon at an undisclosed location at about 9:01 a.m.
Officers made a traffic stop and arrested a 21-year-old man on a warrant at about 10:27 p.m. on Lovers Lane.
A reckless roadster kept going after a minor crash at about 10:43 p.m. in the 7000 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

Officers investigated criminal trespassing at about 2:09 a.m. on Centenary Drive.
19 Sunday
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man for driving without a license and seized a Mossberg International 715T rifle, a magazine, and .22 caliber rounds from a 2012 Ford at about 1:19 a.m. on Preston Road.

A sneaky thief stole the tail lights of a 2018 Ford F-150 from a driveway in the 3100 block of Bryn Mawr Drive at about 10:38 p.m.
HIGHLAND PARK
13 Monday
A 34-year-old man was arrested at about midnight for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and running a stop sign in the 3300 block of St Johns Drive.
A homeless man was arrested at about 2:16 a.m. in the 5000 block of Holland Avenue for failing to identify himself and on a warrant.
Reported at 11:25 a.m.: A looter stole two boxes containing pendant light fixtures valued at $6,200 on Dec. 10 or 11 from a home under construction in the 3500 block of Crescent Avenue.
A backyard bandit stole a Trek Marlin 6 bicycle and a Giant bicycle before 5:13 p.m. from the garage of a home in the 4500 block of Rheims Place.
14 Tuesday
Officers arrested a 41-year-old for carrying a weapon without a license, on a warrant, and possession of a controlled substance at about 3:05 p.m. in the 5400 block of Oxford Avenue.
15 Wednesday
A crafty criminal cut a lock to steal a pallet of construction materials from a site in the 4500 block of Highland Drive before 7:30 a.m.
A Nissan Xterra rolled into a wall in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane at about 9:26 a.m. after a cold passenger started the standard transmission vehicle to turn on the heat, and released the clutch while the vehicle was in gear.
16 Thursday
A 35-year-old man was arrested on a warrant at about 3:37 a.m. in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane.
Reported at 8:36 a.m.: One or more scoundrels stole exterior lights and damaged a fake camera outside a home in the 3300 block of Armstrong Parkway, and stole a real camera from one of its neighbors.
17 Friday
Reported at 6:26 p.m.: A mischief maker damaged a coin-operated Speed Queen dryer and LG dryer in vacant apartments in the 5000 block of Holland Avenue, but apparently could not access the machines’ coins.

18 Saturday
Police arrested a 40-year-old man for driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container at about 10:02 p.m. at the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Preston Road.
19 Sunday
A reckless roadster rear-ended a Lexus at the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and Mockingbird Lane at about 3:50 p.m., then refused to pull over and exchange information.
