HP Boys Stretch Win Streak to 14 Games
After 14 consecutive wins and two tournament championships, Highland Park has put an 0-3 start to the boys basketball season in the rearview mirror.
The Scots (14-3) will carry plenty of momentum into their District 12-5A opener on Friday at Frisco Wakeland.
HP won all four of its games in lopsided fashion at the Union Square Bulldog Classic in Burkburnett over the weekend, culminating with an 80-60 thrashing of Canyon Randall on Saturday. A day earlier, the Scots scored a season-best 91 points while rolling past West Hardin.
Earlier this month, HP claimed five victories in three days at the Athens tournament, including a 78-60 triumph against Temple in the title game. The Scots also defeated Nacogdoches, Palestine, Marshall, and Athens.
In between the two tournaments, HP edged Grand Prairie 63-54 on Dec. 10 for its fourth straight win over a Class 6A opponent.
Following the district opener on Friday, the Scots will return to action on Dec. 28 with a nondistrict game at Frisco Liberty before returning home on Dec. 31 against Carrollton R.L. Turner.
