Lady Scots Earn Title at Greenhill Relay
As it has done so many times before, Highland Park won the varsity girls division of the Greenhill Six-Mile Relay on Saturday at Norbuck Park.
The Lady Scots accumulated a time of 36 minutes, 40 seconds in the 39th annual race — which involves four runners each traversing 1.5 miles on a course that includes jumps over hay bales.
The HP quartet consisting of Ryan Sontag, Maddie Heckler, Finley Heckler, and Paisley Bassett, finished about four seconds ahead of runner-up Prosper.
Among the other schools competing, Ursuline placed fourth in the team standings while Hockaday was 14th out of 24 schools.
In the boys division, Jesuit Dallas came in sixth out of 25 teams, almost three minutes behind champion Byron Nelson, while St. Mark’s was ninth.
