Lions Roll Past Rangers in Season Opener
St. Mark’s started the water polo season with a 23-9 road win over Jesuit Dallas on Aug. 15 at the Segal Family Aquatic Center.
The perennial powerhouse Lions (1-0), who won their fourth consecutive Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association state title last season, extended their winning streak over the Rangers to seven games.
Flyn Hughes tallied three goals to lead the Rangers (0-2) in their home opener. Jack Stevens, Charlie Gall, and Sebastian Lazar scored twice apiece for Jesuit.
In their previous game, the Rangers suffered a heartbreaking 15-14 loss to Hebron on a goal with one second remaining. Gall scored six times in the defeat.
