HP Boys Sweep Forney Foes in Water Polo
After dropping the season opener, Highland Park’s boys water polo team responded with three straight victories, including a sweep of the Forney ISD schools.
In their first home contests of the year, the Scots (3-1) cruised past Forney 13-5 and North Forney 21-9 on Saturday at the HPISD Natatorium. Two days earlier, HP fell to Hebron before bouncing back with a narrow win over Denton Guyer.
Meanwhile, the HP girls were forced to forfeit their matchups with Forney and North Forney due to insufficient player availability. The Lady Scots (1-3), however, did split their meetings with Hebron and Guyer on Aug. 8.
Both HP teams will head to the Cy Fair tournament this weekend near Houston. The HP water polo program is beginning its third season after the UIL began sanctioning the sport in 2022. Both squads won postseason games last season.
This year, the Scots are in District 3 along with Jesuit Dallas, Keller, Southlake Carroll, and South Grand Prairie. Jesuit and SGP only have boys teams.
