Three Fifths: Panthers Earn State Medals
Three wrestlers from Hillcrest earned medals in their respective weight classes at the Class 5A state tournament on Saturday in Cypress.
David Gormley (boys 175 pounds), Alexa Rodriguez (girls 100 pounds), and Inergee Donald (girls 126 pounds) each won four matches and took fifth place. Victor Ramirez also competed for the Panthers at 113 pounds.
In Class 6A, Highland Park’s Carter Baumgartner won two matches in the boys 126-pound weight class but did not medal. Other wrestlers who competed at state for the Scots were Ryan Wright (132 pounds) and Elliot Hoff (175 pounds).
