HP Girls Rolling Before Holiday Tourney
Highland Park has gained momentum heading into a brief holiday break in the girls basketball season.
The Lady Scots bounced back from a defeat in the District 7-6A opener with a pair of lopsided victories, including a 51-17 thumping of Richardson Berkner on Monday.
Audrey Walker outscored the Rams by herself with 21 points, while Ali Jackson added 12 for HP. The Lady Scots (12-6, 2-1) pulled away in the second half when they allowed only seven points. That came on the heels of a 72-21 road win at Irving MacArthur three days earlier.
Next up, HP will compete in the Spring Creek Classic tournament in Mansfield on Dec. 27-29. The Lady Scots will face Cedar Hill in the first round of the 32-team event, then meet either Coppell or McKinney.
After tournament play wraps up, HP will return to the district slate with a home game against Richardson Pearce on Jan. 2.
