Friends of Northaven Trail Fundraise for Bridge Murals
The Friends of Northaven Trail group is working to raise $60,000 for a local artist to paint a series of murals on the new Northaven Trail bridge’s ramp.
So far, they’ve raised $12,626.62.
The group has selected Chera Creative to paint the eight pillars on the west side of U.S. 75 to portray some of the flora and fauna trail visitors will see. These include plants indigenous to the area and the pollinators that depend on them for survival.
“Whether you’re riding your bike, walking your dog, or just driving by, these murals will offer an opportunity to connect with art in an unconventional space,” the Friends’ website reads. “The artwork is sure to improve the aesthetics of the bridge and will be a wonderful addition to the city of Dallas.”
