Out & About: KidneyTexas Runway Report
KidneyTexas supporters gathered Sept. 26 for the annual Runway Report Luncheon and Fashion Show.
This year’s event, themed “Cultivate and Educate” and located at Brook Hollow Golf Club, was chaired by Venise Stuart with Cindy Feld as honorary chair.
The luncheon was emceed by award-winning sportscaster and TV journalist Scott Murray, who welcomed guests and shared some facts about KidneyTexas, which has raised more than $4.6 million in the fight against kidney disease.
“We are here today to shed light on this disease and efforts to support Kidney Texas Inc. and the four beneficiaries of today’s luncheon: Camp Reynal-National Kidney Foundation, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Methodist Health System Foundation, and Texas Health Resources Foundation,” KidneyTexas president Nancy Greenbach said.
Stuart thanked Greenbach for her sponsorship, dedication, and enthusiasm for KidneyTexas. She then recognized Feld in the crowd and presented her with a gift as a “thank you” for volunteering as honorary chair and for her support over the last year.
Charlotte Kimberlin, a longtime KidneyTexas volunteer, was named this year’s recipient of the Sue Goodnight Service Award. Kimberlin said she was honored to receive the award named after her good friend who she traveled with and shared many adventures with over the years.
Stuart then called Murray back onto the stage and presented him with the Lifetime Community Achievement Award.
Murray also presented Crissy Perham, an Olympic gold medal champion who donated a kidney to her best friend’s father in August 2022, with the Everson Walls Legacy Award.
There was also a fashion show produced by Jan Strimple Productions and a live auction with items including a dinner with Dallas Cowboys players, stays in Cabo San Lucas, a “Runway Look” package, and others.
