Mimi Sterling Resigns as CEO of The Family Place

Mimi Sterling resigned as CEO of the Family Place.

Sterling became CEO of the family violence service provider in late 2021 following the retirement of its former longtime CEO Paige Flink. The Family Place Chief Operating Officer Tiffany McDaniel has been named Interim CEO.

“Mimi shared with the board and The Family Place staff she plans to spend more time with her family and eventually return to professional life,” a statement reads. “The Family Place is grateful to Mimi for her service over the last two years, and we wish her the best.”

“The staff and board of The Family Place remain committed to our mission of breaking the cycle of domestic violence and continuing to serve the thousands of women, children, and men who rely on us for shelter and support,” the statement continued.

Before joining The Family Place, Sterling was most recently vice president of environmental social governance and belonging at the Neiman Marcus Group.

Sterling joined the Neiman Marcus Group originally as vice president of corporate communications and public relations and relocated her family to Dallas in 2014 after 15 years of working in luxury fashion and lifestyle PR, branding, and marketing in New York City. After five years, she moved on to oversee corporate culture and philanthropy as a part of the Neiman Marcus Group transformation team.

One of her stories won first place in its category in the Oklahoma Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest in 2018. She’s a fan of puns and community journalism, not necessarily in that order.
