Lady Scots Get on Track With Dual Meet

The Highland Park girls opened their competitive track and field season on Feb. 3 with a dual meet against Waxahachie at Germany Park.

Although the teams didn’t tally standings or award medals, HP did have several individual standouts, including in the field events: Mason Prather (discus and shot put), Callie DeSchryver (high jump and triple jump), Emory Rhodes (long jump), and Brantley Diehl (pole vault).

Top runners for the Lady Scots were Kayla Dickerson (800 and 3,200), Parker Wideman (100 hurdles), Lily Hart (400), Finley Gordon (100), Abbie Herring (300 hurdles), Caroline Jirovec (200), and Ashley Goldman (1,600).

Following the Feb. 3 dual meet, HP competed at the Lovejoy Early Bird Invitational on Thursday followed by a dual meet against Coppell on Friday at Germany Park.
