HP Tops Carroll, Heath to Begin Season
Highland Park’s strong start to the girls basketball season continued with a convincing 44-30 win over Rockwall-Heath in the home opener on Tuesday.
Paris Lauro, who will sign with the University of New Mexico on Wednesday, scored a game-high 14 points for the Lady Scots (2-0).
HP opened its campaign with a 55-45 road victory against Southlake Carroll on Nov. 4. Vivian Jin tallied 20 points and Audrey Walker added 18 for the Lady Scots, who rallied in the second half.
Could the consecutive triumphs over Class 6A foes signal promise with HP competing at the 6A level for the first time since 2016? HP will host Coppell on Friday before traveling to meet Bishop Lynch on Nov. 14.
