Scots Ousted from Water Polo Playoffs
The first loss in program history came at the worst possible time for Highland Park, whose historic boys water polo season ended on Saturday.
The Scots suffered a heartbreaking 13-12 loss to Southlake Carroll in their playoff debut in The Colony. It was the fourth meeting between the teams this season, with the first two resulting in two HP victories and a tie.
Still, the Scots (18-1-1) surpassed expectations in their first varsity season with a 19-game unbeaten streak that included two wins over perennial power St. Mark’s.
The HP girls also saw their season end in the area round of the playoffs with an 18-11 defeat against Flower Mound in the program’s first-ever playoff game. The Lady Scots (8-9) had their four-game winning streak snapped.
