PCCI: COVID Cases, Hospitalizations Rising, But the Rate of Growth Is Moderating

As of July 19, active positive cases of COVID and hospitalizations continue to rise, though the rate of growth has moderated, according to the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI).

Pre-K cases continue to see the largest week-over-week increase, with a 17.7% increase, according to PCCI.

Test positivity rates are also on the rise, both for symptomatic and asymptomatic cases, with asymptomatic rates approaching peak Omicron levels above 25% positivity, PCCI reported.

BA.4 and BA.5 account for over 85% of North Texas cases. Dallas County continues to lag behind booster rates as compared to the rest of the country and most of other highly populated Texas counties, per PCCI.
