Man Arrested In Connection With D-FW Area Bank Robberies, Including in UP

A Dallas man was arrested and charged in connection with multiple bank robberies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including in University Park, Arlington, Lewisville, DeSoto, and Sulphur Springs, Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston announced Friday.

Mark Robert Disch, 53, was named in a complaint filed in the Eastern District of Texas on July 19, 2022, charging him with two counts of bank robbery, authorities say. Disch was arrested July 21 and appeared in federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kimberly C. Priest Johnson Friday.

​​According to the complaint, Disch allegedly robbed five Texas banks between May 25 and June 27. 

University Park officials confirmed on the city’s website that Disch was suspected in connection with the robbery of Prosperity Bank in Snider Plaza.

Authorities were able to identify Disch as being in the vicinity of each bank robbery via video surveillance and witness accounts, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas.

If convicted, Disch faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
