SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: NOT FUN DAY AT THE YMCA

A Park Cities resident had a not-so-fun stay at the Moody Family YMCA in the 6000 block of Preston Road when a crook burgled his Trek bicycle before 5:50 p.m. May 24.

HIGHLAND PARK

23 Monday

Reported at 8:25 a.m.: a pilferer broke into a Chevrolet Express van in the 3400 block of Drexel Drive and took various tools totaling $11,500 from it.

24 Tuesday

A jerk yelled profanities at the driver of a USPS van in the 3200 block of Dartmouth Avenue and at one point smashed the driver’s side window and a side mirror of the van with a hammer before leaving the scene before 3:20 p.m.

25 Wednesday

Arrested at 12:26 a.m.: a 22 year old accused of failure to identify as a fugitive, intentionally giving false information, and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 4300 block of Wycliff Avenue.

Reported at 1:09 p.m.: a pool equipment pilferer took $2,000 worth of pool filter equipment from the backyard of a home in the 3100 block of Beverly Drive.

A burglar got into a Chevrolet Silverado parked in the 4500 block of Fairway Avenue and took a leather Rawlings backpack, a black Herschel backpack, an iPad, a pair of AirPods, a camouflage folding knife, a pair of brown leather Justin boots, and a pair of $800 precription Ray Ban sunglasses from inside before 2 p.m.

28 Saturday

A sneaky shoplifter put a pair of sunglasses from the Fendi store in Highland Park Village in a bag and left the store without paying for the sunglasses before 2:20 p.m.

29 Sunday

Arrested at 1:32 a.m.: a 35 year old of driving while intoxicated in the 4200 block of Livingston Avenue.

UNIVERSITY PARK

23 Monday

A jerk damaged a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 3400 block of Daniel Avenue at 12:04 a.m.

A sneaky thief got into a trailer in the 6700 block of Preston Road and made off with $3,000 worth of work tools before 10 a.m. 

Arrested at 8:40 p.m.: a 46-year-old man accused of public intoxication in the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane.

24 Tuesday

A rogue threw a rock through the window of a home in the 3900 block of Stanford Avenue before 9:14 a.m.

A crook got into a Ford Explorer parked in front of Hyer Elementary in the 3900 block of Caruth Boulevard and grabbed a purse, clothes, makeup, and hair products from inside before 5 p.m.

25 Wednesday

A burglar took a license plate off a GMC Yukon in the 4000 block of Villanova Drive at 4:47 p.m.

26 Thursday 

Reported at 4:41 p.m.: A jerk harassed a woman from the 2600 block of Lovers Lane

A ne’er do well swiped $8,900 worth of Louis Vuitton pieces, credit/debit cards, and more from a Range Rover in the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane before 7:16 p.m.

28 Saturday

A wrongdoer took a child’s Propella bicycle from Curtis Park in the 3500 block of Lovers Lane before 2:35 p.m.

29 Sunday

Arrested at 3:35 a.m.: a 20-year-old man accused of driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor at Hillcrest and Amherst.

A jerk took a Trek bicycle from the CVS in Snider Plaza before 9:40 p.m.
