Lady Scots Fall to Royse City in Finale
Highland Park wrapped up the softball season on Friday with a 12-1 home loss to Royse City, leaving the Lady Scots in seventh place in District 13-5A.
HP closed the campaign with four consecutive losses, three of which came by margins of at least 10 runs. The Lady Scots (12-14, 3-11) were outscored by a combined 76-28 in their last seven contests.
In one of the state’s toughest 5A districts, they couldn’t carry over some early-season momentum that saw HP win eight straight games in late February and early March.
Friday’s defeat marked the final game in an HP uniform for several seniors, including Lilli Reenan, Shelby Pettit, Olivia Jewell, and Ava White.
