SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: MOTORCYCLE MAYHEM

A reckless motorcycle driver hit a Lexus NX300 waiting for traffic to clear at the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Lomo Alto Drive around 5:01 p.m. April 3, got off the motorcycle, asked for a ride from the driver of the Lexus, and left the scene on foot without providing information when refused.

HIGHLAND PARK

28 Monday

Reported at 1:54 p.m.: a woman from the 4500 block of Mockingbird Lane lost documents. 

Reported at 3:14 p.m.: a jerk damaged a Maserati Quatroporte in Highland Park Village.

Lock up your bikes: A thief grabbed a Mongoose bicycle left unlocked in the foyer of the Whole Foods store in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive around 5:45 p.m. before its owner returned with groceries.

29 Tuesday

Reported at 5:06 p.m. In February, a careless driver damaged a Mercedes in the 4300 block of Fairway Avenue, leaving a long, dented scratch.

30 Wednesday

Reported at 1:53 p.m. A quick purse snatcher struck and grabbed two leather tote bags, a black bag containing jewelry, about $5,000 in cash, a pair of AirPods, and more from inside a Land Rover parked outside Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village

A careless driver sideswiped a GMC Yukon that was parked in the 4400 block of Edmondson Avenue at 6:10 p.m. and left without providing information. 

Reported at 10:30 a.m.: a smash and grab. A thief damaged the windows of a Range Rover parked at Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive and grabbed $10,200. 

31 Thursday

Arrested at 1:12 a.m.: a 23-year-old man accused of failing to identify, intentionally giving false information, and for a warrant in the 4300 block of Macarthur Avenue.

Arrested at 9:47 p.m.: a 45-year-old woman accused of public intoxication in the 5400 block of the Dallas North Tollway

1 Friday

Arrested at 1:51 a.m.: a 21-year-old woman for public intoxication in the 5000 block of Airline Road

Reported at 11:16 a.m.: an intruder got into a home in the 4600 block of Westside Drive and grabbed tools including a table saw, skill saws, an air compressor, nail guns, extension cords, and a chop saw.

A burglar got into an equipment trailer parked in the 5300 block of Sewanee Avenue and grabbed various tools, including chainsaws, electric sawzalls, a drill, a socket set, and quicksaws totaling about  $4,650 between noon and 12:30 p.m.

2 Saturday

Arrested at midnight: a 49-year-old man accused of public intoxication in the 4300 block of Potomac Avenue.

3 Sunday

Car conundrum: a driver left a Subaru Impreza in the 3200 block of Mockingbird Lane at 2:01 p.m., leaving police to try to solve the mystery of the Subaru’s owner.

28 Monday

Reported at 2 a.m.: a 27-year-old man accused of theft of a firearm in the 6800 block of Preston Road.

2 Saturday

Arrested at 11 p.m.: a 33-year-old woman accused of driving while intoxicated in the 3100 block of Lovers Lane.
