Interfaith Family Services Hosting Annual Auxiliary Luncheon
Interfaith Family Services, a nonprofit that provides services for those in need, is gearing up for its 7th annual auxiliary luncheon.
The luncheon will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Elizabeth Shuford Conroy and Lauren Shuford Laughry, who are cousins, business partners and longtime supporters, will serve as co-chairs. Kathi Shuford and Adriane Shuford Crosland, Laughry’s mom and sister, respectively, are serving as honorary co-chairs.
“The funds from the Interfaith Auxiliary Luncheon help to ensure that both parents and children obtain the support needed to rebuild their lives. We are so grateful to the Interfaith Auxiliary for their support.” said Interfaith Family Services Chief Executive Officer Kimberly Williams.
NBC 5’s Meredith Land will be the emcee. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. for a wine reception followed by lunch. The event is sold out, but donations are welcome. Jessica Bisor, a graduate of the program, will tell her story of overcoming a series of life challenges during her time at Interfaith to becoming an independent business owner.
“If the past two years has taught us anything, it is how to identify what is most important,” said Conroy. “For most of us, family made the top of the list. We want to focus on hearing from our graduates and amazing children to have the most inspiring, impactful, in-person event this spring.”
“Elizabeth and I have been involved for many years with Interfaith. Before anything, we are mothers to five children, so putting ourselves in the shoes of mothers who have been dealt a setback was very emotional for us,” Laughry said. “The work that Interfaith does to help mothers get their lives back on track resonates with us. These moms want to work hard for themselves and their children. Interfaith provides job training, but just as importantly it’s life training, equipping parents through financial coaching and educating children.”
