Corner Bakery Preston Center Location Closed After 23 Years
Corner Bakery Cafe in the Plaza at Preston Center is closed after the landlord posted a lockout notice on the eatery’s door March 14.
The restaurant at 8420 Preston Center Plaza at the corner of Preston Road and Northwest Highway opened in June of 1998.
The lockout notice posted on the door says the landlord changed the locks and it would be considered trespassing if the tenant enters the building.
The sandwich, salad, and sweets chain was formerly owned by Dallas-based Brinker International, and Corner Bakery remains a Dallas-based business, records show.
Other nearby Corner Bakery locations include one at Preston Road and Forest Lane and another within NorthPark.
People Newspapers reached out to Corner Bakery for comment, but we haven’t heard back at the time of this post. We’ll update this story if we hear back.
place has been awful since brinker sold. dirty, food awful, clueless staff. how/why it lasted this long shows clientele has low standards
I will miss this place. I do agree it was getting rundown. Owners let it go into disrepair in a shopping complex that is all new and nice and in the best part of town. To be locked out, it seems you would have to not pay your rent. It’s bad for customers and employees to close abruptly. Company should pay employees for a reasonable time or move them to other locations. I hope a nice place remodels and takes its place. A new Panera or similar.
