Scots Set for Hoops Practice, Fundraiser
Highland Park will begin heating up the hardwood on Wednesday, which is the first day the UIL allows girls basketball teams across the state to begin their regular practice schedule.
The HP boys will follow suit on Oct. 27 as both teams begin preparations to start their seasons in early November. The Scots will begin nondistrict play on Nov. 12 at Wylie.
Meanwhile, the Lady Scots have scheduled scrimmages at Flower Mound Marcus on Oct. 30 and at Denton Guyer on Nov. 2. They will open the regular season on Nov. 5 by hosting Southlake Carroll.
To help get the community fired up about hoops, HP will hold its annual “Meet the Scots” event on Nov. 1 in the HPHS gymnasium. The fundraising event will include varsity autographs and photos, a food truck, a raffle, and a free-throw competition.
